E te Whānau a te Karaiti o te Pariha o Ōtūmoetai , greetings and peace to you all in the name of Christ.

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed The Rev'd Andrea Jerry Ryan to serve as Vicar of the Parish of Ōtūmoetai.

Andrea will serve half-time in the parish, while also continuing half-time in her role as Kaiwhakawhanake Māori Development Manager for SociaLink Tauranga. This arrangement will bring Andrea's gifts for priestly ministry, pastoral care, and community engagement into the life of St John's and wider Ōtūmoetai community.

I give thanks for Andrea's willingness to take up this vocation among you, and I ask you to welcome Andrea, and her husband Tony, warmly, to pray for them, and to support them as together you continue to share in God's mission in this place.

A service to install Andrea as Vicar will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 14 November. Further details will be shared with the parish in due course, and I hope many of you will be able to gather for that occasion.

May this new chapter be marked by aroha, rongo and hari, and be an expression of faithful partnership in the gospel.
