A Parish Rooted in Faith, Community, and Generosity


The Anglican Parish of Taradale is seeking a full time Vicar to lead a vibrant, multi congregational community committed to connecting with its city, equipping people for lives of faith, and serving others with generosity and love.


Centered at All Saints’ Church in Taradale, and extending to St Michael’s Puketapu and the Memorial Chapel of St George in Crownthorpe, our parish embodies the whakataukī:

“Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu — Though it is small, it is a greenstone.”


We are a warm, welcoming whānau of faith with a deep desire to grow, serve, and respond to God’s call in our community.


The Vicar will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and missional direction across our parish. This is a full‑time position that includes a well maintained vicarage located on-site, adjacent to All Saints’ Church.

 

You will lead a ministry team of laity and clergy supporting:

  • Sunday worship at All Saints’ (8am traditional; 10am family service with children’s ministry)

  • Mid‑week services, including Morning Prayer and Wednesday Holy Communion

  • Monthly worship at St Michael’s, Puketapu

  • Seasonal and commemorative services, including ANZAC Day and Christmas Eve at St George’s, Crownthorpe

  • Community engagement, outreach, and parish events

  • Pastoral care for parishioners and the wider community

  • Leadership development among lay leaders and ministry volunteers

  • Brings energy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit

  • Is comfortable leading a parish with multiple worshipping communities
