Safeguarding Updates

Safeguarding is all about ensuring that children, young people and vulnerable adults are protected from abuse and neglect.

If there are concerns that a vulnerable person may be in danger, appropriate action must be taken to prevent and stop the abuse from happening.

As a guide there are “5 R’s” of Safeguarding:

  •  Recognise

  •   Respond

  •   Report

  •   Record

  •   Refer

The Safeguarding procedures manual has been sent out to each Parish with updates on the Ministry Standards Process being sent out most recently.  The manual is also available on our website.

Please take time to read this manual and if you are unsure of any part, do not hesitate to contact me to discuss.

The procedures within the manual are a helpful guide as to how we manage the different situations.  I am available to visit and help you through any of the procedures that you may need to follow.  Please make use of the position of Safeguarding and Risk Manager.

I trust you will find the manual helpful.
