I write to express our condolences to the Rev'd David van Oeveren and his family as they mourn the recent death of David's mother, Ruby.

Ruby has been well-known to a generation of clergy who have enjoyed her gift of creativity in the design and production of many stoles, chasubles, copes and banners for liturgical use. Ruby was also the inspiration and coach behind a number of people who have taken up the work of designing and creating liturgical wear for themselves or loved ones.

Ruby died peacefully on Thursday evening with the support of family at her side. A funeral was held for Ruby at St Andrew's Anglican Church, Epsom on Tuesday 2 June.

Our prayers are with David, Sue, Rebekah, Anna and Alex, David's father John, brother Michael, and all Ruby's family.

May Ruby rest in peace and rise in glory.
