New Dates for Safeguarding Training

If you have been meaning to attend Safeguarding Training with Penny Hales, the Safeguarding and Risk Manager, now is the perfect time as Penny has scheduled the following Safeguarding Training sessions, possibly in an area near you.

Confirmed Training Sessions:

Gisborne                              Saturday 24 February and Sunday 25 February

Napier                                   Friday 1 March, Saturday 2 March and Sunday 3 March

Te Puke                                 Friday 15 March and Saturday 16 March

Whakatāne                         Saturday 13 April and Sun 14 April

Gate Pā                                 Friday 3 May and Saturday 4 May

Alternatively, Penny and the Rev’d Deborah Broome, Ministry Educator are happy to schedule training at a place, time and date that is convenient to you, whether that means having evening sessions or sessions over several weeks.

Penny and Deborah are available on any of the following dates if you wish to contact them to arrange training to be delivered in your local area.

Dates Available for Training:

February              Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th

March                   Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th

April                       Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, Friday 5th, Saturday 6th, Tuesday 30th

May                       Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd

More dates will be advertised in the near future.

All clergy, wardens, vestry/parish Council, employees and volunteers are required to complete the Safeguarding Training.

Level One takes about 6 hours to complete so Penny and Deborah understand that this might be better to be offered in two sessions and this can be done.  If you need to complete Level 2 (2.5 hours), Level One needs to be completed beforehand.

Safeguarding information can be found on Te Puna - the Waiapu Diocese intranet including the Registration Form, Safeguarding Guidelines, Safeguarding Training Manual, and the Training Framework. All training dates that have been confirmed will be kept updated on the events calendar on the intranet home page.

Please have a look at the documents on the intranet which may help answer many of your questions. Also, please feel free to contact Penny Hales, Safeguarding and Risk Manager by emailing penny.hales@waiapu.com or phoning 021 2403 402.
