Commissioning of The Rev’d Paul Leighton

On Tuesday 19 March the Rev’d Paul Leighton was commissioned as the Lead Chaplain for the Chaplaincy services at Rotorua and Taupō Hospitals. Paul was commissioned by The Reverend Matiu Best, Regional Manager of Chaplains with the support and in the presence of The Right Reverend Andrew Hedge, Bishop of Waiapu. Paul will lead teams of Chaplains and Volunteer Chaplaincy Assistants across the two hospitals and brings to this work the gifts of compassionate pastoral care as part of our ministry in the Church. We are very pleased to see Paul embark on this ministry amidst the team of wonderfully supportive Chaplains and VCAs. It was encouraging to see so many of Paul’s colleagues in ministry, and his friends and family from across Waiapu come together to encourage and support his appointment and commissioning.
