Over this past week Bishop Andrew has been in Melbourne attending the ATLAS (Anglican Thought Leadership Around Science) deliberations. This gathering is part of the work of the Anglican Communion Science Commission which was launched at Lambeth 2022. The week involved deliberations around the relationship between faith, theology and science by bishops from Oceania to provide guidance to the work of the Commission. It is the third of these types of meetings worldwide held over the past year or so. The deliberations were facilitated by a team from the University of Auckland who are key partners in this work with the University of Oxford. Their collective work from the week will be shared back to the Commission later in the year by two bishops from Oceania with the support of the research team. We look forward to seeing the important work of the science commission develop as it supports the whole Communion to engage positively with the science community as part of our expression of faith being lived out in every part of life.
