Te Puke Anglican Church has had a special relationship with the Ni-Vanuatuan RSE workers for many years. It started with providing 'winter warmer' packs and progressed to community meals and church services. One of their leaders, James, an Anglican brother in Vanuatu was licensed by Bishop Andrew Hedge to help minister to his people while in Te Puke.
Several months ago, Parish Projects were able to source and fund bibles. The men were surprised when they discovered these bibles were in their own native language and theirs to keep.
Being away from home the church is able to provide nourishment, not just for their physical needs but also their spiritual needs as well.
