Communities in Hawke's Bay Cities

The cities of Napier and Hastings host a number of Anglican communities. From the grandeur of the diocesan Cathedral to the faithful witness of local parish churches and church schools, there is something for everyone in this region.

Waiapu Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Napier

The symbolic heart of the diocese of Waiapu and home to the seat of both the Bishop of Waiapu and te Pīhopa o Tairāwhiti, the Cathedral community is one that honours our traditions of music and liturgy and would welcome you to visit.


Parish of Greater Hastings

The parish of Greater Hastings​ is an expression of the diversity of our church. From its centre at St Matthew's, the parish serves the city at locations in Riverslea and Mahora as well as through its Church school, St Matthew's in Hastings city.


Tamatea Community Church

A combined church​ community that gives expression to the faith from across denominational borders, this friendly community would welcome you to gather with them anytime.


Parish of Taradale

Centred at All Saints' Church in the suburb of Taradale, this community seeks to be connect, equip and serve their neighbourhood and city. Encompassing Taradale, Puketapu, Crownthorpe and Pakowhai, there is a church for you whatever your worship style.


Parish of Westshore

Nestled at its centre at St Andrew's in Westshore, this parish serves and ministers to communities well north of the city including Bay View and Eskdale. A friendly community that feels like family, you are more than welcome to join them at any service, or visit the op-shop.
